Potter Party

In a few minutes, Isabelle and I are going to a Harry Potter Party at our local children's bookstore. This is the first HP release party I've attended, and the first time I've purchased an American version -- my entire collection is from the UK, and my mother has, bless her heart, ordered one from Amazon.co.uk so that the spines will all match. Nevertheless, I could not bear to wait that long to find out what happens to Harry, and I also really love this bookstore. I explained to the owner, a really delightful woman (who knits!) that my impatience is so great that I'll read the ending first. In the car. Before we pull out of the parking lot for home.
I am surprised Jackie has agreed to sell me the book at all, she was so horrified.
Because Ellie is not capable of staying up until midnight, and because I am not capable of waiting a minute longer than necessary to read the ending of the book, we went to an earlier party at the bookstore. All the stores in the shopping center were Potter-themed, including the new cafe, which sold Butterbeer and Treacle Tarts. The girls also got lightning bolts on their heads, and then I realized that we have to attend a wedding tomorrow, and they may indeed cement their place in our family's Gallery of Weird by showing up at the church with Voldemort's mark on their precious little nuggets.
Time to go!
