Today is April 30th, which means that Ellie turned four. This has been a topic of much conversation for the last five months or so. "I will be four on April 30th. Not three. I am three. I will be four. One-two-three-four. On April thirtieth. For serious. Four years old."
If you were Ellie, it was a pretty good day:
Sleep late. In mommy's bed.
Go for a bike ride. (A two-mile bike ride. With mommy jogging alongside.)
Admire gifts. Try to resist opening gifts. Mostly succeed.
Visit with a friend. Run around like a wild monkey.
Read card from big sister: "You ur the best sistr evr."
Open long-coveted baby carrier.
Enjoy dinner out, complete with pink lemonade and Snickers Swirl frozen custard.
Read a new bedtime story.
If you were Ellie's parents, it is WAY past time for bed.
Happy Birthday, little monkey. What an adventure we're going to have!
