We're watching Sesame Street, and I am, frankly, tuning it out because Elmo's speech (First person, little man. Look into it.) makes me feel like someone is removing my eyeballs with a butter knife, when I catch part of the song that Gordon's father sang at the apex of his musical career:
"You can do it with a penguin, or do it with a pony..."
And my first thought was, "Well, that's not going to go over very well no matter what color state you live in."
